Reporting Analyst

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Reporting Analyst to join our Pricing and Reporting business unit within the Automobile industry. This role requires a deep understanding of data analysis, advanced reporting techniques, and a proven track record of delivering actionable insights to drive business decisions. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, extensive experience in SQL programming and Power BI reporting, and a passion for leveraging data to optimize pricing strategies and enhance business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Analysis and Reporting:
  2. Utilize advanced SQL programming skills to extract, transform, and analyse large datasets from multiple sources.
  3. Develop complex algorithms and models to calculate pricing averages and identify pricing trends across different product categories.
  4. Design and maintain comprehensive Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators, track market trends, and monitor pricing competitiveness.
  • Market Tracking and Analysis:
  • Monitor and track 70+ DMAs (Designated Market Areas) on a bi-weekly basis to assess market dynamics, competitive landscape, and pricing strategies of key competitors.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of market data, including sales trends, customer preferences, and regional demand patterns, to identify opportunities for pricing optimization and revenue growth.
  • Pricing Strategy Development:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, and Product Management, to develop pricing strategies for oil, tires, and batteries based on market insights and customer segmentation.
  • Conduct pricing elasticity analysis and sensitivity testing to evaluate the impact of pricing changes on sales volume, revenue, and profitability.
  • Adhoc Reporting and Analysis:
  • Respond to adhoc reporting requests from senior management and stakeholders, providing timely and accurate analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Proactively identify emerging trends, anomalies, and outliers in the data and provide actionable recommendations to address potential issues or capitalize on opportunities.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Present findings and recommendations to key stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, using data visualization techniques and storytelling principles to convey complex information effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment on reporting requirements, data definitions, and analysis methodologies, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a reporting or data analysis role, with at least 3 years of experience in the automobile industry.
  • Expertise in SQL programming and database management, with a strong understanding of relational databases and data warehousing concepts.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView, with a demonstrated ability to design intuitive and insightful dashboards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex ideas and findings to diverse audiences.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or MBA with a focus on Business Analytics, Data Science, or related field.
  • Certification in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or related disciplines (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate).
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and predictive modelling methodologies.
  • Familiarity with automotive industry data sources, market research methodologies, and competitive intelligence tools.
  • Experience with other programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and data visualization libraries (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn) is a plus.
